In this episode, Cowboy Kenny, Uncle Buck, James Lascannon, Chumbalaya, and Wolfman Farley basically take a quick gaze back into history and we compare GW to the Evil TSR. Follow the link below to the article that we reference.

Guys, this was painful to listen to. An interesting topic that constantly was being derailed by "remember when", dick jokes, and talking over each other. Painful. It took you guys 5 minutes to get through all the "jokes" about an old laptop! You guys need to limit interjections to one every five to eight minutes. I really enjoyed the article that you linked to. I appreciated the read. The podcast? Not so much. You need fewer hosts, or some better method of managing the conversation. Maybe a good tip would be this: if the comment or joke doesn't move the conversation forward, maybe it's not one worth making. You should have been able to get through the TSR history in 15 - 20 minutes, then spend the rest of that time building the comparisons I don't know who is worse at derailing, probably Chumbalaya or Wolfman? Whoever it was that kept commenting on how bad the old timers had it. The irony was that at the end of the history section he jokes about how long it took! HAH! Maybe Skype doesn't work so great for a podcast since sound quality is pretty meh, and connection issues. Hate to unload but I'd like to see you guys improve, tighten up the show a bit. Hope the next episode is better.
ReplyDeleteHi Guys, this is now my second favourite podcast, behind the 11th company. I think the comentary is great and I am really looking forward to the next one. I think your critique on the ships is excellent and if I may be so bold as to suggest an improvement, add in what cards would work well with the ships. You guys are great!
ReplyDeleteJust one think Chumby, do you mean to say congenital, or do you mean congenial host?
@Sam
ReplyDeleteI'll take the rap for that. Kenny said in the show notes that this would be a "serious" episode, so I couldn't resist running that train off the rails
@BS11
Thanks for the props, broski.
Congenital is intentional, it's really just a joke for myself.
If I had my way, we'd do a Kessel Run every week so there's more time for indepth stuff. We're always trying to improve things, and card+ship interactions would be very fun to talk about.
Chumby
ReplyDeleteAs much as I agree with your need to interject humour especially when it's a serious moment, the constant interruptions were pretty bad in this one. It was obvious that some of the other hosts were getting tired of being interrupted, having to repeat something or having a point they were trying to make destroyed. I honestly thought about just letting it be but the fact that I'm not the only one who is concerned about it made me want to share my feelings. I love you guys, everything you do and listen to everything lol just please, if it's supposed to be serious put on your big boy pants Chumby
